Wall Arts Drawing

Ink, charcoal, pencil, and mixed-media wall art drawings — produced, framed, and export-packed in our Vietnam facility.

Livewellcraft manufactures wall arts drawing across multiple media types on archival-grade substrates, mounted and framed in-house so your order arrives retail-ready. Lower unit cost and faster production than painted wall art, with the same QC standard and OEM/ODM flexibility.

  • ISO 9001:2015 certified
  • 100-piece MOQ on standard designs
  • 25-30 day production on catalog models
  • OEM/ODM flexibility
Collection of ink, charcoal, and pencil wall art drawings framed and ready for export

Wall arts drawing is the leanest product line in our wall art catalog. Ink, charcoal, graphite pencil, and mixed-media compositions on archival paper or cotton-linen canvas — each piece mounted, framed, and packed on our floor in Dong Nai, Vietnam. No rolled sheets shipped to a third-party framer. You receive finished, hang-ready units.

The commercial logic is straightforward: drawings cost less per unit to produce than paintings, move through our line faster, and load more densely into a container. If you're building a wall art assortment for retail, e-commerce, or hospitality procurement, drawings give you an accessible price tier that fills out your catalog without compressing your margin on higher-ticket pieces like sculptures or texture art. Most of our distributors carry drawings alongside paintings — the drawings handle volume, the paintings handle average order value.

Four Media Types, Four Price-Margin Profiles

Not all drawings are the same product. The medium determines your unit cost, your retail positioning, and which buyer segment responds to it. We produce four distinct media types, each with its own production workflow.

Black and colored ink drawing on archival canvas showing clean lines and high contrast
Fastest Cycling

Ink Drawings

Black ink and colored ink on archival paper or canvas. Clean lines, high contrast, strong visual impact in listing photos. Ink is our fastest-cycling drawing medium — a skilled artist completes 15-20 pieces per day on standard formats, so your 1,000-unit order doesn't stretch the production schedule.

E-commerce advantage: Ink drawings photograph sharply for e-commerce, which matters if your channel is Amazon or Wayfair where the listing image drives conversion.

Soft charcoal drawing on textured paper with rich tonal range
Fine Art Perception

Charcoal Drawings

Soft charcoal and compressed charcoal on textured paper or canvas. Charcoal gives you a tonal range that reads as fine art at a fraction of original art pricing — your retail customer perceives gallery-level work, and your landed cost stays in the volume-friendly range.

Fixative protection: Every charcoal piece gets a fixative spray application (two coats, with drying between) to lock the medium and prevent smudging during transit and handling. We added the second fixative coat in 2019 after a European distributor reported smudge marks on pieces that sat in warm warehouse storage — single-coat wasn't enough for extended holding periods.

Detailed graphite pencil botanical illustration on smooth archival paper
Traditional Fine Art

Graphite Pencil

Detailed pencil work on smooth archival paper — botanical illustrations, architectural sketches, portrait studies. Pencil drawings occupy the most traditional fine-art position in the drawing category, so they pair well with classic wood frame profiles.

Margin note: Production speed is slower than ink — the detail work demands it — but your per-unit perceived value is higher, which supports a stronger retail markup.

Mixed-media drawing combining ink, watercolor wash, and collage elements on canvas
Differentiation Leader

Mixed-Media Drawings

Combinations of ink, charcoal, pencil, watercolor wash, and collage elements on canvas or heavy paper. Mixed-media is where your product line gets differentiation that's hard for competitors to replicate from a print-on-demand supplier.

Competitive moat: Each piece has visible hand-applied texture and layering, so your listing stands apart from mass-printed wall art in the same price bracket.

Technical Specifications for Wall Arts Drawing

These are the standard specs we produce to. Every parameter is adjustable on OEM orders — the table gives you the baseline for quoting and comparison.

Standard sizes 30×40 cm, 40×60 cm, 50×70 cm, 60×80 cm, 80×120 cm Custom sizing from 20×20 cm to 150×200 cm
Frame materials MDF, solid wood, metal Custom molding profiles available
Frame finish Natural wood, matte black, matte white, walnut stain, gold/silver leaf Any RAL color, custom stain, distressed finish
Glazing None (canvas); acrylic sheet (paper-mounted) Museum-grade UV-filtering acrylic
Hanging hardware D-ring + wire (rated 2× piece weight) Sawtooth, French cleat, keyhole
Protective finish Fixative spray (charcoal/pencil); UV-resistant varnish (ink) Matte or gloss varnish options
Piece weight (60×80 cm, framed) 1.8-2.5 kg depending on frame

Why 380 gsm Cotton-Linen Blend?

The 380 gsm cotton-linen blend is our default for canvas-mounted drawings because it holds dry media without bleeding and maintains tension across humidity shifts.

Tropical & Coastal Markets

If your market is coastal or tropical, the heavier 450 gsm pure linen upgrade resists sag better over time — worth the incremental cost if you're selling into Southeast Asia or the Gulf states.

Market Segments Where Drawings Drive Repeat Orders

Four distinct channels where wall arts drawings consistently outperform other media on margin, reorder velocity, and fulfillment efficiency.

Wall art drawings displayed in retail e-commerce packaging

Retail and E-Commerce Volume

Drawings are the entry-price anchor in a wall art product line. At the 60×80 cm format with a standard MDF frame, your landed cost positions drawings at a retail price point that captures impulse and first-time wall art buyers.

Our current e-commerce distributors typically list drawings in the $25-60 retail range depending on frame spec and market — that's a bracket where conversion rates are highest and return rates are lowest.

Drawings also ship flat and light, so your fulfillment cost per unit stays low if you're running FBA or third-party warehousing.

Charcoal botanical drawings in hotel corridor installation

Hospitality and Commercial Interiors

Hotels, restaurants, and corporate offices order drawings for guest rooms, corridors, and common areas where the specification calls for original-look artwork at a budget that covers 50-200 rooms per property.

A charcoal botanical series in matching frames across 120 hotel rooms is a single PO for you and a single production run for us. We Pantone-match frame finishes to the interior design palette, so your project delivery meets the designer's spec without on-site surprises.

(Hotel procurement cycles repeat every 5-7 years on renovation schedules — one successful project becomes a recurring account.)

Small format drawings 30x40cm for gift wholesale channel

Art and Gift Wholesale

Small-format drawings — 30×40 cm and 40×60 cm — move well in the gift and art print wholesale channel. MOQ at 100 pieces per design lets you test new artwork without deep inventory risk.

We produce the same composition across multiple sizes, so you offer size options on a single design without doubling your development cost.

Mixed-media drawings perform particularly well here because the hand-applied elements justify a price premium over printed alternatives.

Coordinated drawing series for model home staging

Staging and Model Home Programs

Real estate staging companies and model home furnishers need affordable, visually cohesive wall art sets. Drawings in coordinated series — three to five pieces sharing a color palette and theme — fill this need at a cost that keeps your staging package margins intact.

We produce matched sets with consistent framing and can pack them as kits with piece-numbering for the installer.

Customization: From Your Concept to a Production-Ready Drawing SKU

Our 12-engineer design team develops custom wall arts drawing from your brief. Send a reference image, a mood board, a competitor sample, or a rough concept — we turn it into a production specification with medium selection, substrate callout, color references, frame profile, and packaging design. Sample turnaround is typically 15-20 days from concept approval.

Limitations to know upfront

Charcoal and pencil media are not suitable for pieces above 120×150 cm — the fixative application becomes uneven at larger formats, and we won't ship work we can't guarantee. For oversized drawings, ink or mixed-media are the reliable options.

Custom frame molding profiles require a 300-piece minimum to justify the tooling setup.

How We Produce and Inspect Drawings Differently Than Paintings

The category page covers our general wall art production chain. Here's what's specific to drawings.

Drawings run on a separate workflow from paintings because the media behave differently. Paint is forgiving — you can layer over a mistake. Charcoal and ink are not. A misplaced ink line or an over-blended charcoal passage means starting over, not touching up. Our drawing artists work in a climate-controlled section of the floor where humidity stays between 45-55% RH. Paper and canvas both respond to moisture — too dry and charcoal skips, too humid and ink bleeds at the edges. We control the environment so your batch stays consistent from piece 1 to piece 1,000.

D65 Standard Lighting QC

QC for drawings runs under D65 standard lighting to check tonal accuracy against the approved sample. We inspect canvas tension, stretcher bar squareness, frame fit, and surface quality — looking for unintended smudges, ink splatter, uneven charcoal coverage, or fixative pooling.

Inspection Rate

8%
Detailed Inspection
100%
Visual Check

On a 2,000-piece drawing order, 8% get pulled for detailed inspection and 100% pass through a visual check before packing.

Fixative & Varnish Application

The fixative and varnish application stage is where drawing QC diverges most from painting QC.

Charcoal & Pencil: Two coats of workable fixative with full drying between coats

Ink Drawings: UV-resistant varnish to prevent fading under retail lighting or window-adjacent hanging

Adhesion Test: Tape pull test on every batch to confirm the protective layer bonds properly and won't lift during transit or unpacking

Logistics Advantage

Packaging and Freight Advantage: Drawings Load Denser Than Any Other Wall Art Type

Drawings are the thinnest, lightest wall art type we produce. That translates directly to your freight economics.

Freight Density Comparison (60×80 cm Framed Piece)

Metric Drawing Painting Texture Art
Carton Depth ~6 cm ~8 cm ~12 cm
40HQ Loading Estimate ~2,800 pcs ~2,400 pcs ~1,600 pcs
Piece Weight (Framed) 1.8-2.5 kg 2.2-3.0 kg 3.0-4.5 kg
17%

More units per container versus paintings. At 2,800 pieces per 40HQ versus 2,400 for paintings, your per-unit ocean freight cost drops accordingly.

Volume Buyer Impact

For volume buyers shipping full containers, that loading density advantage is the difference between a competitive landed cost and a margin squeeze.

Individual Packaging Specification

Each drawing ships in an individual corrugated carton with foam corner protectors and a glassine interleaving sheet over the artwork surface. The glassine prevents any surface contact or moisture transfer during transit — important for charcoal and pencil media where surface friction can cause marking.

Buyer Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions About Wall Arts Drawing

Q What is the MOQ for custom wall arts drawing with original artwork?

100 pieces per design on standard sizes with existing frame profiles.

If your custom order requires a new frame molding profile, the minimum moves to 300 pieces to cover tooling setup.

For ODM catalog designs with your private label, MOQ stays at 100 pieces — no tooling involved, just your branding on the packaging.

Q Ink drawing vs. charcoal drawing: which medium sells better for e-commerce?

Ink drawings consistently outperform charcoal in online channels for our current buyers. The high contrast photographs sharply and reads well as a thumbnail — which is where most e-commerce purchase decisions start.

Charcoal's tonal subtlety gets lost in compressed listing images. That said, charcoal performs strongly in brick-and-mortar retail and hospitality where buyers see the piece in person.

Channel Strategy: If you sell across both channels, carry ink for online and charcoal for showroom or project sales.

Q How do you prevent charcoal and pencil drawings from smudging during shipping?

Two-coat fixative application with full drying between coats, followed by glassine interleaving in the carton so nothing contacts the artwork surface.

We test every batch with a tape pull after fixative curing — if any medium lifts, the batch gets a third fixative pass before packing.

Since adding the second coat as standard in 2019, we've had zero smudge claims on charcoal shipments.

Q Can drawings withstand prolonged exposure to retail lighting without fading?

Ink drawings get a UV-resistant varnish topcoat that protects against fading under standard indoor and retail lighting conditions.

Charcoal and pencil are inherently more lightfast than most pigment-based media — carbon-based media resist UV degradation better than organic dyes.

Direct Sunlight Upgrade: For pieces that will hang in direct sunlight or near windows, we recommend the museum-grade UV-filtering acrylic glazing upgrade, which blocks 99% of UV transmission.

Q What is the lead time for a first-time OEM drawing order?

15-20
Days Sample Dev
25-30
Days Production
45-50
Days Total

Allow 15-20 days for sample development and approval, then 25-30 days for production after your deposit clears.

Total timeline from first contact to container loading is typically 45-50 days on a first order. Reorders on approved artwork skip the sample phase entirely — 25-30 days from deposit to shipment.

Q Do you supply drawings on paper without framing for buyers who frame locally?

Yes. We can ship drawings as unframed sheets — rolled in rigid tubes for large formats, or flat-packed with board backing for standard sizes.

Some of our European buyers import unframed to reduce freight cost and duty value, then frame locally to meet specific market preferences.

Cost Comparison Available: We'll quote both options so you can compare landed cost.
